WELCOME Door MAT
The Past
It is really really strange how the computing environment has evolved. Back in the 80s the Americans were really scared ..that the Japanese would take over the computing industry.
But 'somehow' things shaped up where the companies located in the US became the leaders.
I believe that if the Japanese had their way we could buy the latest 'PC' for $49 from Walmart and it would be the size of a slim DVD Player , it would not have a fan and would consume like 10-15Watts
The Present
But what do we have today ?? -> A Box with a Processor In it - That consumes enough energy to produce more heat than the task it performs. This box runs useless code 90% of the time. Gives fewer fewer useful hardware clock for the user, runs a million useless tasks in the background.....
The Future.....
Yes the future looks more like "if the Japanese had their way ...kind of computer ..."
In this blog I plan to give my comments on specific technologies and ideas and some key player that would shape and re-shape the landscape of Personal Computing ......
